Meet Our Resident Artist Robyn Cooper  |

Hi my
name is Robyn Cooper. I took up painting seriously about 10 years ago
whilst living on a farming property at Gingin in Western Australia. I
needed to take up a hobby as our two daughters had left home to pursue
their careers. I originally started with Decorative painting using
acyrilcs and then progressed into landscapes and still life. I
then moved onto oils where i knew i could get those beautiful
vibrant colours giving me the depth and luminicity, but it was
detrimental to my health as i was an asthmatic so had to give them
away. It was by chance that I stumbled across an advert in an American
art magazine that grabbed my attention, a non-toxic, odourless oil
paint with no wastage, always ready for use without set up time or
palette preperation, ideal for blending and glazing techniques and that
it could be dried when i the artist wanted it to dry, not based on
different chemistries that required various amounts of evaporative
drying as I was sick of binning my paint due to our hot climate.
My reaction was simple, How Come I Have Never Heard Of This Product in
Australia ! This has to be an Artists Dream come
true. I sent off to the USA and got my first taste of
Genesis some 8-9 yrs ago. Since then it is history, and if you
have looked on the Genesis website you can see a few of my
paintings all acheived with Genesis, plus some of the students I
have taught over the years with Genesis also.
I
have found Genesis Oil Paints great for sepia underpainting,
Glazing and all the old traditional oil painting techniques and best of
all I am not restricted in any way, I can start and
finish an oil painting, have it framed and ready to
sell, all in the same day.
One of the great advantages
of this product is that I can commence painting immediatly from
where I last left off, whether it be the previous day, week, month or
even years with my palette of any special colours I may have
blended and better still at the end of the day I just down tools,
not have that tedious job of cleaning up my palette or
cleaning brushes, just leave them full of paint or whatever, get up and
walk away closing the door behind me. Absolutely Wonderful.

For
